Heartland Hotel Beachcomber

The Heartland Hotel Beachcomber is currently closed for the winter season and will reopen at the beginning of October 2010.  Our sister property, Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands, offers alternative accommodation of a 4-Star Plus level within walking distance of Paihia township.  We are still taking bookings for stays at the Heartland Hotel Beachcomber from October 2010 onwards.

Your day at Heartland Hotel Beachcomber can start in a number of ways. Relax on your balcony, breathe in the sea air and quietly admire the view as the day dawns. If you are the more active type, perhaps you’ll start with a quick swim at the beach just below the hotel. Or to fuel up for the day ahead, savour a delicious breakfast and coffee at the Rockpool Restaurant.

Whatever you have planned, you’ll find Heartland Hotel Beachcomber is a comfortable and convenient place to stay. To get into town you can either take a very short drive, or simply wander down a sandy track and around the beachfront.

As our guest you will also enjoy:

• A choice of room styles, sleeping up to five people, and providing good quality room amenities.

• Easy access to local attractions, our helpful staff will be happy to assist with information and bookings for your chosen activities.

• Convenient hotel facilities including Internet access, meeting rooms, guest laundry, and recreational facilities including a pool, spa and tennis court.

  • Wonderful Position
The hotel has a fantastic position, on a hill overlooking the sea. Our room was well furnished and very comfortable and our balcony allowed us to sit and watch some wonderful sunsets. We used the restaurant the three nights we stayed and found it excellent value for money. The only problem is it has quite a small menu (which does mean all the food is cooked to order) and if you were staying any length of time you might run out of options. However, we managed to slect three different options and found them all to be well cooked and nicely presented. The hotel is outside of the town centre but during the day we walked via the beach which was very enjoyable and took about 15/20 mins. This would not be advisable at night because you do have to climb over some rocks. You could, however, walk via the road which would probably take a little longer.

  • Great lamb
The reception staff were lovely (especially the Kylies) and the view from the room was awesome as there is nothing between the hotel and the beach except the garden. From the outside the bright hotel sign gives you the impression that you might be staying in an 18-30s. The Beachcomber is more of a motel than a hotel at the moment but it has just been bought by Scenic Circle so you get all the toiletries and the mini bar plus it has a better view . The restaurant is nice and there is a tiny but cute bar (mind your head). The lamb was delicious but there was a distinct lack of bacon in the chicken and bacon salad. All the staff are friendly and helpful.
