About Heartland Hotels NZ
Heartland Hotels is one of two main Scenic Hotel Group NZ hotels brands (the other being Scenic Hotels). Heartland Hotels are located, as the name suggests, in regional and provincial centres. Six NZ Hotels are spread across Queenstown, Gore, Fox Glacier, Haast and Christchurch in the South Island.
The Heartland Hotels brand was created in 2009, as part of the major repositioning of the iconic Scenic Circle Hotels company. Scenic Circle Hotels was established in the 1980s, starting with a core group of South Island properties. The company grew strongly to become New Zealand’s largest independently-owned and operated hotel group. We proudly remain 100 percent New Zealand owned today.
After more than two decades of growth and successfully welcoming countless guests from all over New Zealand and the world, the time came to more carefully define who we are and what we offer. The name Heartland Hotels truly encompasses the personality of this brand. It represents the ‘real, down to earth’ New Zealand, whilst taking pride in the little things that make a visit memorable. We offer a friendly welcome, good value for money and genuine Kiwi hospitality in small to medium visitor centres. The other Scenic Hotel Group brand is Scenic Hotels.
