Scenic Hotel Dunedin City to open new top of the line rooms
The Scenic Hotel Dunedin City is offering guests extra levels of comfort and convenience with a series of new rooms due for completion next month.
The 11 rooms occupy the top floor of the 122 room hotel and all have private balconies with views out over the city and harbour. They also boast the only air conditioning in any Dunedin hotel and high tech features including high speed broadband, wireless internet, a media hub which allows guests to play their ipods onto the in-room 42 inch LCD screen and an electronic building management system to control air conditioning and heating.
Greg Hewland, General Manager, says the rooms are aimed at both the leisure and business market.
“What we are offering with these rooms is something a bit special. They will suit people who need a high tech set up for business trips and people who are looking for space and a touch of luxury while they are on holiday.”
The showpiece of the new rooms is the Penthouse suite which offers guests two bedrooms, a separate lounge and full kitchen facilities.
All the rooms have been finished in line with the Scenic Hotel Group’s philosophy of supporting local business. The floors feature pure wool New Zealand carpet, the joinery was made in Dunedin, the leather ottomans and armchairs were made in Timaru and the Christchurch – manufactured beds feature the hotel group’s trademark Kiwi designed wool and down bed overlays.
The rooms are due for completion by the end of March making them available for visitors in the city for the Rugby World Cup.
