Proactive Martial Arts
Proactive life skills
Drawing off nearly thirty years in the martial arts industries, Proactive Martial Arts founder Nigel Stupples has developed Proactive Life Skills. A course to deal with myriad of challenges children face on a daily basis, with the help of the Scenic Hotel Group.
This program is invaluable for empowering children to take control of their lives by maintaining and growing life skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. These skills help children in the long run to make educated decisions and to weigh up possible outcomes of their actions before acting.
Proactive life skills have been taught in over fifty various schools across South Island with great success.

Scenic Hotel Group is supporting local tennis in Christchurch by sponsoring the Waimari Tennis Club.
Forsyth Barr Stadium
Scenic Hotels first choice for Dunedin accommodation
New Zealand’s newest and most impressive sports stadium needs an equally impressive accommodation provider. A partnership between Forsyth Barr Stadium and Scenic Hotel Group is a natural fit.
Scenic Hotel Group Executive Director Lani Hagaman says being the preferred accommodation supplier for Dunedin Venues is an endorsement of both the Scenic hotels and Scenic Hotel Group’s commitment to New Zealand sport and business.
“As the largest 100% New Zealand owned hotel chain, Scenic Hotel Group is proud to support our country’s first covered arena. The stadium is world class in design and construction, and we believe our Scenic and Heartland hotels are equal to the task of providing world class accommodation.”
Lani says the two properties in the heart of Dunedin – the Scenic Hotel Dunedin City and the iconic Scenic Hotel Southern Cross – provide a combined total of nearly 300 rooms and suites.
Dunedin Venues Commercial Director Guy Hedderwick says the choice of Scenic Hotels as the preferred accommodation provider was a no brainer.
Lani Hagaman from Scenic Hotel Group says the two properties offer quality accommodation for sports fans and visitors seeking the best of Dunedin entertainment.
“Scenic Hotel Dunedin City has just opened its new executive floor, boasting magnificent balconies overlooking the harbour and the stadium. Scenic Hotel Southern Cross has a long history of being the first choice in accommodation for many visiting sports teams, from the All Blacks to the Tall Blacks,” says Lani. “We have the best in-room facilities, a central location and very well equipped in-house gyms. We understand sports people and sports fans. We love this country – and we love this stadium.”
