Amaia Luxury Spa

The Amaia Luxury Spa is situated across the road from Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier at Te Waonui Forest Retreat. We warmly invite you to experience their blissful beauty treatments and relaxing massage therapies that will melt away tension and stress as your senses get taken on a relaxing journey.

Baggage Storage

Guests are welcome to leave baggage at reception prior to check-in or while you wait for transfers after check-out. Please discuss your requirements with our friendly reception staff.

Check-out

Check-out time is 10.00am. Should you wish to keep your room after this time please contact reception for availability. Late check-out may incur an additional charge.

Children

High chairs and portable cots are available for guest use. Please contact reception to discuss your requirements.

Dry Cleaning

A dry cleaning service is not available, however we do offer a laundry and pressing service. Please contact reception for more information.

Electricity

Electrical plug adaptors are available for loan from reception. A refundable deposit of $25 is required, added to your room account, or by cash payment. The adaptor must be returned to reception on check-out to receive the refund.

Guests plugging in their own adaptors do so at their own risk. Damage to the socket may incur a charge.

Electricity is supplied at 240V AC, 50Hz.

Laundry

There are three guest laundry’s available on site; located opposite rooms 106, 514, and in the middle of Tui Block. Each wash or dry cycle costs NZ$8 and includes detergent. Please follow the operating instructions inside the laundry. Machines are available between 9.00am – 9.00pm.

Lost and Found

Found items are stored by the hotel for three months. After this time goods are donated to local community groups.

Parking

Guests staying with us are welcome to park their cars on the premises. Please note that parking spaces are limited and cannot be guaranteed.

Payment Options

Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier accepts all major credit cards or cash payment in NZ$. All room charges must be cleared on check-out.

All accounts settled by credit card will incur a 1.5% credit card surcharge.

Pets

Pets are not permitted in the hotel, guest rooms, car park, or left in cars overnight. Exceptions are made for registered Guide Dogs.

Post Office

Postage stamps for mail items within New Zealand or overseas can be purchased from reception. Letters to be mailed may be left at reception. A courier service is available Monday – Friday.

Our friendly, helpful staff wish to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Luggage porter, transport arrangements, forward bookings, and suggestions for sightseeing and activities are just the beginning of the services we can provide. Please contact reception with any questions or to discuss your requirements.

Restaurant & Bar

Canavans Restaurant provides hearty West Coast food, with local fare, wine and beer featured on their menus. Canavans Restaurant is available by reservation only, and the open-plan design means it is the ideal location for groups and functions. Canavans is open for breakfast and dinner.

View Menus

Glasshouse Restaurant provides stunning glacier views and casual a la carte dining designed for families and leisure guests. Open for buffet or a la carte breakfast from 7am – 10am as well as a la carte dinner from 6pm until late, daily (summer only)

The Moa Bar is named after the twin Moa statues that are an iconic feature of the property. The Moa Bar is located in the heart of the hotel and provides the perfect place to unwind next to the roaring fire, or on the balcony enjoying stunning West Coast weather. Open from 4pm, the Moa Bar offers a wide selection of New Zealand beers and wins, along with spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.

Safe Deposit Facilities
