Franz Josef Glacier Accommodation

Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier will be closed for the 2024 winter season from 6 May until 1 October 2024 (including hotel restaurants and bar). We have two alternative accommodation options for visitors to the Glacier Country region; 5 Star luxury retreat – Te Waonui Forest Retreat (located just across the road from Scenic Hotel Franz Josef) or alternatively 3 star Heartland Hotel Glacier Country which is located 30 minutes from Franz Josef in the township of Fox Glacier. We look forward to reopening in the spring and welcoming visitors back to this amazing destination from 2nd October 2024.
