Hotel Location & Parking

Situated at the entrance to the seaside town of Paihia, it’s a pleasant stroll into town to the main wharf, visitor activities, fine dining and shopping. While staying at the 4-star Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands you will experience our lush gardens, with water features and easy walking access to Paihia’s main local attractions. Located just off State Highway 11, we’re about a 25 minute drive from Bay of Islands airport.

You’ll find plenty of on-site parking at the property as well as bays for larger vehicles such as campervans (subject to availability). We also have two eV charging stations available (Type 2 plugs), charging fees apply and guests must provide their own charging cable – find out more on our eV charging page.

How far is Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands from Paihia town centre and the wharf?

The hotel is at 58 Seaview Road, at the southern entrance to Paihia. It is a pleasant stroll into the town centre (restaurants, cafés, shops and waterfront). Paihia Wharf is approximately a 13-minute walk (or a few minutes’ drive), from where most Bay of Islands cruises and the Russell ferry depart.

What attractions are close to the hotel?

Popular nearby attractions include Waitangi Treaty Grounds, Hole in the Rock and dolphin-watching cruises (departing from Paihia Wharf). You’ll also find the Russell ferry, Paihia Beach, local walking tracks, and a range of restaurants to explore. The hotel is about a 25-minute drive from Bay of Islands Airport.
