How soon can I make a booking once I join?
As soon as you have registered, you will receive the special promo code, you will be able to make a booking.
As a company programme, do individual staff members need register?
No, only one person per company needs to register for SHG Advantage. If more than one person tries to register you will be advised that you are already signed up.
Are branches included in the membership or should they register separately?
No, just the parent company/head office needs to register so that all branches fall under the one name.
How often will we receive newsletters?
We don’t want to bombard you with emails, so we will only send you out a monthly email with exclusive promotions and important information. If something majorly exciting or important pops up, we will be sure to let you know straight away.
Do we have access to reporting on usage?
Absolutely! If a consolidated report on how often you have stayed, who has stayed, where you have stayed and what you have spent on accommodation is important to you and your finance/procurement team, we can absolutely send out a report with this information. Let us know what your requirements are for receiving this information
How do we book multi rooms in multi hotels via this programme?
Give our amazing Christchurch based reservations team a call on 0800 69 69 63, and they can help you book multiple rooms in multiple hotels.
Do I need a credit card to make a booking, or can it be charged back to my company?
Yes, you do need a credit card to secure this booking.
Is there a cost to join SHG Advantage?
No, there is no cost to join.
Are there any instant rewards or a loyalty program attached to this?
SHG Advantage offers businesses an immediate discount on the accommodation rate rather than requiring you having to stay multiple times to reap the rewards. Our hotels also individually recognise regular guests to their properties with little perks and thank yous.
Can I use this for personal use, or is it just for business?
Yes you can use your SHG Advantage discount for personal and business travel!
Is there a card I need to show when I check in?
No, not in terms of a loyalty card, just a credit card for any incidentals.
Can I manage all my bookings online or do I need to call the hotel directly?
Yes, you will be able to manage the booking online, or you can call the hotel – whichever one you would prefer.
Which hotels participate in this program?
Airedale Boutique Suites, all Scenic branded hotels and Heartland Hotels in New Zealand are a part of the SHG Advantage programme. The only hotels that are not a part of the programme are Scenic Matavai Resort Niue and Te Waonui Forest Retreat.
When do I pay for my stay?
Full payment will be taken at check-in or check-out depending on the hotels’ individual payment policy.
Can I get a better deal if I stay more frequently?
For companies and businesses that stay more 50 nights across our group in a calendar year, you may qualify for negotiated corporate rates at some or all of our properties. Please contact our National Sales Team for more information.
Can I make a booking through my travel agent or in the GDS?
No, this is just for those who do not have a travel agent, or who want to book direct with us. Our rates are non-commissionable and will not be available for sale through the GDS (what travel agents use to book flights/hotels etc).
Is there a penalty for cancelling my booking?
You can cancel bookings free of charge if we receive the cancellation request no later than 4pm the day you’re due to arrive. If you cancel after this (or do not show), a cancellation penalty the equivalent of the first nights accommodation cost for each room booked will apply.
